Back in December, I sprained my foot and had to go to the hospital. Since February, I've been fighting and arguing and flipping out about my hospital bill, which was about $1500 total. At the beginning of the summer, I had gotten in touch with the collection agency that would be taking my money away from me and giving it to the hospital. I gave them my mailing address and waited (semi-patiently) for a month to hear from them. Today, I finally got fed up with waiting to get a letter from them and called them, only to find out that someone from the hospital had removed my account from their records without and notice as to why. WIth much grumbling and after getting the number from . I left a message with the hospital, telling them to call me.

About 2 hours later, I heard from the hospital. They still had a record of me in their files, with good news. They had reviewed my financial aid paperwork that I had sent in in June, and approved my application. What that means is my outstanding balance is zero. Nada. I don't owe a cent. I had to have her repeat that, because I honestly didn't believe it.

So, I no longer have to worry about an outstanding hospital bill, so any money I earn now can go towards buying a car and saving for my loan repayment.
